The Allen-Bradley 1746-OAP12 is a high-density, high-reliability Digital AC Output Module engineered for the SLC 500 PLC platform. It provides 12 discrete output channels designed to control high-power alternating current (AC) field loads such as motor starters, solenoid valves, indicators, and actuators.The standout engineering feature of the 1746-OAP12 is its Triac-based solid-state switching architecture paired with overload/fusing protection. Unlike electromechanical relays, Triacs eliminate mechanical wear, allowing for rapid, spark-free switching and a significantly longer operating lifespan. The module is split into two isolated groups of 6 channels, allowing it to interface with separate power sources or phases if required.
