If pre-charge faults occur, isolate the drive and verify complete DC-bus discharge. Measure resistance only after disconnection, then inspect the resistor body, leads, terminals, bypass contactor and charging-control circuit for heat or mechanical damage.

Repeated resistor failure can indicate a bypass contactor or DC-link fault; correct the sequence problem before installing a replacement.
