Description

Maximum Bus Length

The maximum total length of bus extension (ribbon cables) must not exceed 12 meters. This means that the total length of cables connecting multiple sub-cabinets must not exceed 12 meters.

Terminator/Terminator

On the last slave board in the bus chain, only one DSTC 176 termination device should be placed for bus termination.

Module Purpose/Installation Location

The DSBC176 serves as an S100 I/O bus extension. Two DSBC176s can be placed in each I/O sub-rack (in a redundant expansion configuration, only the DSBC174 supports redundancy).

Module connections use a set of ribbon cables, which are provided with the modules at the factory and are marked with connector identifiers.
