Its primary function is to safely and accurately transmit low-voltage Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) control signals from the drive's control board to the gate of high-power IGBT or IGCT modules, which operate at several thousand volts. It provides the necessary galvanic isolation to protect the sensitive low-voltage control circuitry from the high voltages and electrical noise present in the power section, ensuring precise switching and system reliability.
