The Allen-Bradley 1746-HSCE is a high-speed counter module for the SLC 500 programmable controller platform. This intelligent module has module specific functions to detect high-speed machine or process motion is critical. It acts as an autonomous co-processor, unloading the main SLC 500 processor CPU by monitoring extremely rapid external pulse trains in real-time, executing high-speed counting operations, and performing immediate hardware-level output switching based on user-predefined comparison values.
