The Allen Bradley 1747-PIC is a specialized Personal Computer Interface Converter designed for the SLC 500 ecosystem. It bridges the communication gap between a computer's standard RS-232 serial port and an SLC 500 controller's DH-485 (Data Highway 485) network link. It functions as a hardware protocol translator, converting electrical signals from standard RS-232 voltage levels to differential DH-485 signals without requiring an external power supply. This legacy device serves as a foundational link enabling industrial engineers to configure, monitor, upload, and download ladder logic programs using RSLinx software.

ü Drive Configuration: Deployed to bridge communications with older Allen-Bradley variable frequency drives or operator interfaces utilizing DH-485 protocol.
