The EPRO PR9268/300-000 is a rugged, electrodynamic velocity sensor designed for horizontal measurement of absolute bearing vibrations. Utilizing a permanent magnet and spring-mounted coil, this self-generating sensor provides a high-level output voltage proportional to vibration velocity, directly compatible with monitoring systems without external amplifiers.

Installed directly on the bearing pedestals of medium-to-large steam turbines in thermal, nuclear, and combined-cycle power plants. It specifically measures low-to-medium frequency absolute structural vibrations (4 Hz to 1,000 Hz) to detect oil whip, oil whirl, unbalance, and structural looseness that could lead to catastrophic rotor-to-stator contact. |
Deployed in hydroelectric power stations on the horizontal axis of turbine guide bearing housings. It continuously monitors the impact of hydraulic forces, cavitation, and rotor misalignment on the surrounding stationary structure, feeding real-time velocity data into the Emerson AMS 6500 machine health network. |
Bolted onto the rigid main casings of massive reduction gearboxes driving grinding mills, kilns, and overland conveyor systems. It monitors structural vibrations caused by gear mesh faults, broken teeth, or shaft misalignment, allowing plants to schedule predictive maintenance before a catastrophic failure halts production. |
