The METRODATA ATM1850 E2-E3 ATM DSU is an industrial-grade telecommunication data service unit designed to enable high-speed ATM network access and interface conversion over wide-area networks. It acts as a robust communications bridge within critical infrastructure network topologies, converting localized non-ATM or serial synchronous traffic into cell-based ATM formats. By executing hardware-driven cell Segmentation and Re-assembly (SAR) according to ITU-T standards, the appliance allows complex telemetry or automation data to be transmitted economically over E2 (8.448 Mbps) and E3 (34.368 Mbps) digital leased lines, ensuring stable, low-latency data transport between remote control nodes.
