The RAYCHEM EMDR-10 is an electronic controller specifically designed for roof and gutter snow and ice melting systems. It operates heating cables by monitoring both outdoor temperature and moisture presence in the gutter, ensuring that the heating cable is only switched on when necessary to maintain proper drainage of melting water. By continuously analyzing real-time ambient temperature and structural moisture data via dedicated external sensors, the controller intelligently activates connected self-regulating heating cables only when environmental freezing threats and moisture are simultaneously present, preventing hazardous ice dams while maximizing energy savings through advanced integrated logic.
