The 1757-SRM is a high-availability synchronization hardware interface engineered to establish a fault-tolerant backup infrastructure on critical production lines. Operating in matching pairs across two distinct 1756 ControlLogix chassis (Primary and Standby), it eliminates single points of system failure by using high-speed fiber-optic linkages to continuously mirror program execution states, I/O connection tables, and memory data tags from the active controller to the backup unit. In the event of a hardware, power, or communication network fault, the module initiates an automated, bumpless control transfer to the secondary rack within milliseconds to ensure uninterrupted process continuity. Additionally, field engineers can leverage an onboard four-character alphanumeric rolling display and dedicated status LEDs (PRI, COM, Health) for real-time diagnostics, while an embedded solid-state primary status relay provides immediate system-failure signaling for external warning horns, beacons, or SCADA supervisory logs.
