The primary architectural advantage of the 1784-KTXD over the standard KTX card is its dual independent channel capability, which is routed through a single 9-pin D-shell connector using a specialized split-Y cable. Featuring its own onboard microprocessor, the card processes communication tasks independently to prevent taxing the host computer’s CPU. This dual-port design allows a single PC to run software programming, configure nodes, and drive heavy HMI/MMI telemetry data pipelines across two separate Data Highway Plus (DH+) networks or Remote I/O (RIO) links at the same time.
