The Allen-Bradley 1746-IA16 is a 16-point digital AC input module for the SLC 500 PLC system. It accepts 85-132V AC input signals from field devices such as sensors, switches, and pushbuttons, and converts them into digital signals for the processor. The module occupies a single slot in the SLC 500 chassis, features a removable terminal block for easy wiring, and includes individual LED status indicators for each channel. It provides optical isolation between field circuits and the backplane, with an isolation voltage of 1500V AC.
