The Allen-Bradley 1746SC-CTR4 is a 4-channel Counter / Flowmeter Input Module designed for the SLC 500 PLC system. Operating as an independent intelligent co-processor, it captures high-frequency digital pulses generated by field instruments and transforms them directly into real-time flow rates, totals, or rotational speeds. It accepts high-speed pulse signals from devices such as turbine flow meters, encoders, and proximity sensors, and converts them into count or flow rate data for the processor. The module supports multiple input types, including single-ended counters, quadrature encoding, and enable control lines. It occupies a single slot in the SLC 500 chassis and features configurable input filters for noise immunity.
