Diagnostics & Protection
Verify processor status and compare the stored application revision before restoring from the module. A memory or checksum fault should be isolated from processor battery, chassis or application issues.
Remove power before inserting or removing the cartridge. Apply ESD controls and protect the module contacts from contamination, bending and static discharge.
Installation & Upgrades
Install only in the compatible PLC-5 processor memory-module position, following the ejector and card-guide procedure. Do not force the cartridge or change processor switches without documentation.
After installation, confirm the intended memory-transfer mode and verify the restored program offline. Test communications and controlled I/O operation before returning the processor to RUN.
