The Allen-Bradley 1788-EN2DN is an Ethernet-to-DeviceNet linking device designed to seamlessly bridge high-level EtherNet/IP networks with device-level DeviceNet systems. It operates concurrently as an EtherNet/IP adapter and a DeviceNet scanner, managing data transfer (up to 496 bytes input and 492 bytes output words) across disparate network protocols. This gateway enables industrial control systems to perform real-time I/O control, remote configuration, and comprehensive diagnostic monitoring of connected field hardware directly from centralized Ethernet-based environments. |
