The GE IS200EXAMG1A is a critical, high-voltage interface and bridge protection board designed for industrial power generation. Functioning as the Exciter Attenuator Module, it mounts inside the High Voltage Interface module of the auxiliary cabinet. Its primary purpose is to scale down and attenuate the massive high-voltage signals from the exciter field bus—ranging from 125 VDC to 1000 VDC converting them into low-voltage, manageable feedback. Operating in tight coordination with the Exciter Ground Detector Module, the EXAM board uses an internal sense resistor network to drive the electrical center of the field winding with a low-frequency square-wave test signal relative to earth ground.
