HIRSCHMANN M-AIR2 Fan Unit
The HIRSCHMANN M-AIR2 is an industrial-grade, hot-swappable plug-in fan cooling module designed by Hirschmann (a Belden brand). Its primary role is to provide heavy-duty forced air ventilation and thermal regulation inside the rugged frames of MACH 3002 and MACH 3005 backbone switch devices. The module is equipped with two redundant high-performance fans alongside an integrated monitoring intelligence unit. If one fan fails or drops below optimal RPM thresholds, the module automatically signals the main switch logic via a localized diagnostic path while the remaining fan increases speed to maintain safe core processor temperatures.
