The SST 5136-DNP-CPCI is a high-performance 3U CompactPCI communication interface module designed to link a host industrial computer with DeviceNet or alternative CAN-based networks. As a dedicated network controller, the module executes the entire DeviceNet protocol directly at the hardware layer via its onboard processor. This architectural configuration significantly offloads complex networking routines from the host PC's primary processor, enabling highly deterministic real-time communication. It is fully Unconnected Message Manager (UCMM) capable and features an open, documented shared memory map interface.
