It is designed to slide directly into a standard Type II PCMCIA (Personal Computer Memory Card International Association) slot. The card functions as an intelligent network interface that allows field technicians and automation engineers to connect their laptops directly to Allen-Bradley industrial control networks on the plant floor. It features a high-density, proprietary physical port on its outer edge that attaches to specialized breakout cables. This architecture enables portable computers to perform high-speed ladder logic programming, on-site device configuration, and real-time troubleshooting diagnostics across Data Highway Plus (DH+), DH-485, and Remote I/O (RIO) network nodes without requiring bulky desktop-bound interface hardware.
