The Allen-Bradley 1785-V80B is a high-density, single-slot embedded programmable controller processor card built specifically to insert directly into a standard VMEbus open-architecture chassis. This hardware module bridges advanced real-time computer backplane processing with heavy industrial plant automation. It is equipped with a large 100K-word static RAM (SRAM) memory capacity to accommodate very intricate control programs, complex arithmetic calculations, and massive data tables. |

The card is compliant with the C.1 VMEbus standard specification, enabling it to act as either a VMEbus master, a bus slave, or an interrupter while communicating directly with other VMEbus CPU and I/O modules. For plant-floor communications, the 1785-V80B is outfitted with four built-in DH+ (Data Highway Plus) or Universal Remote I/O (RIO) ports, a dedicated Extended Local I/O expansion port, and a configurable RS-232-C serial channel supporting standard DF1 and ASCII protocols. It features a physical mode keyswitch and front-panel diagnostic LEDs, allowing operators to monitor battery health, running states, and active bus faults instantly. |

l Large-Scale Plant Automation: Used to control expansive manufacturing networks, complex conveyor lines, and automotive assembly operations requiring a high-density configuration of up to 2,944 total I/O points.
l Legacy VMEbus Facility Support: Utilized by systems engineers as a precise swap-in component to maintain, upgrade, or troubleshoot existing legacy embedded control configurations without disturbing the overall mechanical footprint.
