The 1788-CNET is an open-style, modular industrial network interface circuit board engineered by Allen-Bradley brand. It is designed specifically as an embedded daughtercard that inserts into a dedicated internal option slot of host processing platforms, primarily supporting FlexLogix controllers, DriveLogix controllers, and PowerFlex 700S high-performance AC drives. By embedding this communication card directly into the host hardware structure, it allows standalone processing equipment to link into high-speed, deterministic, and scheduled ControlNet fieldbus networks without requiring thick external linking devices or standalone gateway racks. Once slotted into position and recognized by the system's firmware, the card handles robust real-time control data, peer-to-peer interlocking tag transfers, and program uploads or downloads via RSLogix 5000 programming software. It provides a physical BNC connector on its front-facing edge to tie straight into standard 75-Ohm coaxial trunk media layouts.
