The Bihl+Wiedemann BWU1568 AS-I 3.0 is an industrial-grade AS-i 3.0 to PROFIBUS Gateway housed in a rugged, compact stainless steel chassis. Operating as a high-speed communications bridge, this unit simultaneously acts as a dual-network AS-i master on the field layer and a standard DP slave on the plant's main PROFIBUS architecture. It is designed to cleanly link binary industrial sensors, switches, and small machinery actuators into an upstream master PLC. The gateway features built-in duplicate AS-i address recognition, earth fault detectors, and advanced diagnostic monitoring capabilities via its RS-232 connection interface to ensure seamless multi-network tracking and minimum machine downtime on modern factory floors.
