Product Overview 

The GE IC693BEM340 is a Factory Instrumentation Protocol (FIP) Bus Controller module for the Series 90-30 PLC system. It serves as a smart interface between the PLC's backplane and a FIP I/O serial bus, enabling high-speed, deterministic communication with distributed I/O devices. The IC693BEM340 is a standard, single-slot, rack-mounted module with no DIP switches or jumpers to set. It features six status LEDs for module and communication diagnostics, two 9-pin FIP bus connectors for redundant bus capability, and a 15-pin RS-485 serial port for firmware upgrades and configuration.
